Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Project Associate-1 in a time-bound research project for a temporary period purely on a contractual basis as per the following details:

Project Title: Modeling Travel Time for Two-lane Highways

Funding Agency: SCIENCE & ENGINEERING RESEARCH BOARD (SERB)

Principal Investigator: Dr. Durgesh Vikram, Department of Civil Engineering

Project Tenure: 3 Years

Job Description:

The candidate will carry out the field data collection. He/she will also compare the results with existing models and propose new models based on numerical and statistical analysis. Additionally, the candidate will write research papers in indexed journals, conferences, and patents.

Qualification:

• M.Tech/M.E. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering or M.Tech/M.E. in Statistics or equivalent.
• Desirable: GATE/NET qualified.

Upper Age Limit:

Age not exceeding 35 years as of the date of the interview. Age relaxation is allowed up to 5 years for SC/ST/PH/OBC/WOMEN candidates.

Fellowship:

• 31,000/- (initially first two years) and Rs 35,000 (afterward till the end of the project) per month for NET/GATE qualified candidates.
• 25,000/- (initially first two years) and Rs 28,000 (afterward till the end of the project) per month for non-NET/GATE qualified candidates.

Registration for PhD:

Selected candidates will be given the opportunity for a full-time PhD program at BITS, Pilani as per the institute norms.
