Project Associate-I - R&D Project Staff

Summary:

We are inviting applications from eligible and interested candidates for the engagement of R&D project staff for the position of Project Associate-I. This is a purely temporary position under the project "Providing technical services and compliance monitoring during the full-scale soil remediation at the mercury contaminated closed thermometer factory site of HUL, Kodaikanal," and other projects. The position is tenable at CSIR-NEERI Nagpur or its Zonal centres. The selected candidates will be based in Kodikanal, Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu.

Designation: Project Associate-I (Two Positions)

Research Area: Environmental Science/Chemistry

Location: Kodikanal, Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu

Eligibility/Qualification:

• Essential: M.Sc. degree in Chemistry/Environmental Science from a recognized university.
• Desirable: Knowledge of the local language (Tamil).

Job Description:

• Collection and analysis of soil/sediment/water/biota samples for mercury contamination.
• Preparation of analytical reports, inter-laboratory comparison, QA/QC, and laboratory maintenance.
• Other requirements: The selected candidate may be required to work in shifts.

Monthly Emoluments:

1. Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for candidates who have qualified national eligibility tests (CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship or GATE) or have gone through a selection process conducted by Central Government Departments, Agencies, and Institutions.
2. Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for other candidates who do not fall under the above category.

Mode of Selection:

• Selection will be based on an online interview conducted through Microsoft Teams, Skype, mobile, or any other suitable tool.

Note:

1. All project staff positions are on a contract basis and will be co-terminus with the project, with a maximum duration of five years.
2. The upper age limit will be considered as on the last date of receipt of applications.
3. There is no application fee required for applying to the position.
4. Only candidates who have acquired the essential qualification and have declared results (at least a provisional certificate) are eligible to apply.
5. Candidates who are awaiting results of their final semester or have submitted their Ph.D. thesis are not eligible to apply for positions where minimum essential qualification is mandatory.
6. Final semester and result awaited candidates will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
7. Experience, if required, will be counted from the date of acquiring the minimum educational qualification. Dissertation/thesis work conducted during the academic period will not be counted as experience.
