Job Post: Project Associate II (Environmental Meteorology) - CSIR-NEERI

Summary:

CSIR-NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH INSTITUTE (NEERI) is seeking eligible and interested candidates for the engagement of Project Associate II (PA-II) position under the GAP-2835 DST: Centre of Excellence for Climate Change Research. This is a purely temporary position based at CSIR-NEERI in Nagpur. The last date to apply online is 02 June 2023.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master's degree in Environmental Science/Geoinformatics/Remote Sensing & GIS with a focus on Environmental Meteorology.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical/Chemical with at least 2 years of relevant experience in R&D in Research Institutes, Academic Institutions, or Industry.
  • Experience in field exercises/visits for emission data collection, satellite-based remote sensing data handling, and development of climate vulnerability matrices, indices, and climate risk assessment will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in using R-Statistics/SPSS/Origin for statistical analysis, data visualization, and interpretation is desirable.
  • Candidates who have qualified the CSIR-UGC NET tests for Lectureship at the national level will be preferred.

Job Description:

  • Conduct research in the field of Environmental Meteorology, including emission data collection, satellite-based remote sensing data handling, and development of climate vulnerability matrices, indices, and climate risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with a team of researchers and scientists to carry out scientific activities and provide project-related services.
  • Analyze and interpret data using statistical tools such as R-Statistics/SPSS/Origin for visualization and analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of climate change-related projects and provide technical support as required.

Salary: Rs. 35,000/- per month + HRA (Higher salary for candidates selected through CSIR-UGC NET)

  • The offer letter will be initially issued for a period of twelve months, subject to performance review and availability of funds.
