Title: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position in Chemical Engineering at IIT Hyderabad

Summary: The Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Hyderabad is seeking applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a project funded by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB). The project focuses on designing colloidal gels of tuneable elasticity.

Location: Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad

Eligibility/Qualification:

• Essential: M. Tech. in Chemical/Polymer Engineering/Polymer Technology or similar Engineering/Technology disciplines. Candidates with exceptional B. Tech Chemical/Polymer Engineering background are also encouraged to apply.
• Desirable: Valid GATE score. Experience in wet-lab projects, specifically in handling polymers and colloids. Experience in characterization techniques of polymers and colloids.
• Age limit: 35 years (can be relaxed based on applicant’s experience and provisions)

Job Description: The JRF will work on assembling micron-sized polymeric particles, referred to as colloids, into gel networks and understanding the parameters that can be adjusted to tune the gel’s elastic modulus. The project will involve synthesis of colloids, imaging the gel using microscopy, measuring gel microdynamics using dynamic light scattering, and developing image processing codes for quantifying gel microstructure. The candidate can choose to focus on different aspects of the project as per their interest.

Salary: As per Government of India and SERB norms (Rs 31,000 + HRA)
