Job Title: Junior Research Fellow

Summary: University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University, Chandigarh is seeking applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow under the project titled "Multi-Modal Framework for Monitoring Active Fire Locations (AFL) & Precision in Allied Agricultural Activities using Communication Technologies." This project is sanctioned by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology of the Government of India.

Eligibility/Qualification:

• First class throughout with M.E. / M.Tech / M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering / Software Engineering / Information Technology / Electronics and Communication Engineering.
• GATE / UGC NET Qualified.
• B.E / B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering / Software Engineering / Information Technology / Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, Cloud storage, Sensors, and related technologies.
• Expertise in Python programming.
• Preference will be given to candidates with domain knowledge of working on satellite data/Machine Learning.

Job Description:

The selected candidate will work as a Junior Research Fellow for a period of 6 months, which may be extended based on project duration and satisfactory performance. The role involves research activities related to the project, including the application of machine learning, big data analytics, cloud storage, and sensors. Python programming skills will be utilized. The incumbent may be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays if necessary for project exigencies.

Salary: The emoluments for this position are Rs. 35,000/- per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA).
