Title: Understanding on/off kinetics of LOV-domain proteins to construct optogenetic tools
Summary: Applications are invited for the contractual post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a DST-SERB sponsored project entitled, “Understanding on/off kinetics of LOV-domain proteins to construct optogenetic tools” in the Jyoti and Bhupat Mehta School of Health Sciences and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Post Graduate Degree in Basic Sciences or Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
- a. Scholars who are selected through the National Eligibility Test – CSIR- UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
- b. The selection process through national level examinations conducted by Central Government Department and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOs, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
- Desirable qualifications include:Knowledge on protein biochemical assays including qRT-PCR and gel electrophoresis.
- Basic understanding of computational tool such as plasmid designing and sequence alignment.
- Experience on spectroscopy (UV/Vis, FTIR) and microscopy (SEM, TEM) will be an advantage.
Job Description: The selected candidate will be working on a DST-SERB sponsored project entitled, “Understanding on/off kinetics of LOV-domain proteins to construct optogenetic tools” in the Jyoti and Bhupat Mehta School of Health Sciences and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati.
