Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the area of Robotics in an ISRO-funded project
We have an opening for a JRF to work on an ISRO-funded project on development of a series-elastic actuator and a control unit. This project involves both modeling and simulations of a series elastic actuator as per the specifications and design constraints provided by ISRO and also involves development of the hardware actuator prototype and experimental testing. The candidates are expected to have strong interests and some prior foundation in electric motor/actuators, controls, robotics, or relevant embedded systems. Some prior expertise in building robot hardware will be helpful. Familiarity with Python, C, Matlab, or LabVIEW will be a plus. The successful candidates are also expected to bring a positive and enthusiastic attitude to the lab and work collaboratively with several other lab members on this project. An open-mindedness and a willingness to learn new hardware, software and theory skills as the project demands is a must. The successful candidates should be proficient in written and verbal communication, which is necessary to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and present and explain the technical information.
