Interested candidates are requested to apply for the following post in the Department of Aerospace and Applied Mechanics, Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, Howrah-711 103.

Junior research fellow: No of post - One

Essential Qualification:

(i) A Master’s degree in any relevant specialization of Mechanical /Aerospace/ Aeronautical/ /Mechatronics/Applied Mechanics or in any related discipline from a recognized University/ Institute with minimum 60% marks (6.5 CGPA on a ten point scale) throughout from class X to the qualifying degree.

(ii) GATE qualification is mandatory.


Candidates will be encouraged to join the institute PhD Programme. The selected candidate will be working on design and development of an Unmanned Aerial Aquatic Vehicle (Flying Fish) with state of the art technology. Also, the candidate will be working with a team of experts in the field of UAV, Hydrodynamics, Turbulence and CFD. 


Desirable Qualification: Software skills: C/C++/Python/MATLAB, Solidworks

Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/+ 24% HRA

Duration of project: 36 months.
