Greetings on behalf of the organizing committee of DELTAs-2022 !

The Lighter-than-Air Systems Laboratory of Aerospace Engineering Department at IIT Bombay is planning to organize an international conference titled "Design and Engineering of Lighter-Than-Air Systems (DELTAs-2022)", during 22-24 June, 2022 at IIT Bombay campus. 

DELTAs-2022 aims to bring together practising engineers, industry experts, academicians, students, start-up pioneers and all the associated stakeholders from across the globe who are actively involved in study and development of LTA systems. DELTAs-2022 will create awareness about the relevance of modern LTA systems as means of sustainable aviation of the future. DELTAs-2022 will also commemorate two-decades of research achievements of the LTA lab of IIT Bombay.The event will be an excellent opportunity for participants to disseminate their research accomplishments, share their novel ideas, and connect directly with the leaders of the global LTA industry. A Technology Showcase will also be conducted to enable industry professionals and software vendors to demonstrate the application and efficacy of their products for design and engineering of LTA systems.

The conference will consist of invited talks, presentation of contributed papers, culminating in panel discussions on issues relevant to the LTA industry. A pre-conference workshop will also be held for the benefit of students and young scholars. A grand reunion of "IITB LTA Labbers" spread all over the globe is also planned on the evening of 24th June 2022.

Mode

Subject to the conditions prevailing at the time, DELTAs-2020 will be conducted in an In-Person and/or Hybrid mode (i.e, both Offline and Online).

The DELTAs-2022 organizing team would like to cordially invite you to be a part of this conference and/or contribute a technical paper on any topic related to LTA systems. 

Interested participants can submit their extended abstract of at least 3000 words on the following topics:

  1. Design (Conventional and Unconventional)
  2. Aerodynamics (CFD and Experimental)
  3. Structures, Loads and Materials
  4. Energy and Propulsion
  5. Stability and Control
  6. Operations & Ground Handling
  7. LTA systems for Sustainable Aviation
  8. Multi-disciplinary Design Optimisation
  9. Novel Applications & Future Concepts
  10. Any other topic of relevance to LTA systems 

The important deadlines related to DELTAs-2022 are :

Extended Abstract Submission Deadline: 22 Dec, 2021

Acceptance Notification : 22 Jan, 2022

Early Bird Registration Deadline : 22 Feb, 2022

Camera-ready paper Submission : 22 Mar, 2022

Last date for Registration : 22 May, 2022

Pre-conference Workshop : 22 June, 2022

Conference Dates : 23-24 June, 2022
