Summary:
The Defense Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) Young Scientist Laboratory-Artificial Intelligence (DYSL-AI) is seeking young and meritorious Indian nationals to join as Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) in the field of Artificial Intelligence. DYSL-AI is a leading research lab dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence technologies and their applications, collaborating with esteemed institutions such as IITs, IISc Bangalore, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in AI-related research and contribute to innovative projects in deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and reinforcement learning.

Eligibility/Qualification:
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
- Graduate degree (B.E./B.Tech) in the first division with NET/GATE in a professional course, with a strong foundation in problem-solving, algorithm design, and at least one major programming language (Python, Java, C#, or similar).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree (M.E./M.Tech) in the first division with knowledge of classical AI algorithms, Machine Learning, Deep Learning techniques, and experience with software libraries such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, TensorRT, and PyTorchMobile.
- OR, a postgraduate degree in Basic Science with knowledge of speech and language technology, 3D Vision and Simultaneous Mapping and Localization (SLAM), Computer Vision including Generative Models, or Reinforcement Learning.
Age Limit:
- Maximum age limit: 28 years as of the date of the interview, with relaxations for SC/ST and OBC candidates.
Job Description:
- JRFs will work initially for two years and will subsequently be elevated to SRF status for the remaining two/three years based on performance, subject to DRDO rules.
- JRFs will be involved in AI research using deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and reinforcement learning to improve research outcomes and drive innovation.
- The research work will help shape AI strategy and demonstrate the potential of AI for defense applications.
Emolument:
- Stipend of Rs. 37,000/- per month plus HRA (27% at present), resulting in a total emolument of Rs. 46,990/-.
