Job Title: Project Associate – I


Applications are invited for the position of Project Associate - I (PA-I) to work on a research project titled "Materials and Catalytic Process for Fine and Specialty Chemicals from Marine and Biomass Resource" (MLP-0077). This project is a temporary position for one year and offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of chemistry and catalysis.

Subject Area: Chemistry (Catalysis/Inorganic/Organic Synthesis)

Location: CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSIR-CSMCRI), Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India


  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry.
  • Desirable: Candidates with research experience in the area of catalysis, inorganic chemistry, or organic synthesis are preferred.

Salary: Rs. 25,000/- per month (consolidated)


  • Maximum age limit: 35 years as on the last date of receipt of the application.
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per Institute rules.

Duration of the Project:

This position is purely temporary for a period of one year. It does not guarantee any right or claim for extension or absorption into CSIR-CSMCRI.

Job Description:

The selected candidate will work on the research project "Materials and Catalytic Process for Fine and Specialty Chemicals from Marine and Biomass Resource." The primary responsibilities include:

  • Research on the extraction and conversion of polysaccharides derived from marine resources using catalytic processes.
  • Catalyst synthesis, characterization, and process optimization for the production of high-value chemicals from marine-derived polysaccharides.
  • Contributing to ongoing industrially relevant research endeavors.
