Job Title: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Summary:

Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment (DGRE), invites eligible candidates for a Walk-in Interview for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). This is a prestigious opportunity to contribute to research in Physics/Geophysics and work on exciting projects in the snow-bound, glaciated region of the Himalayas.

Designation: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Subject Area: Physics/Geophysics

Location: Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment, Chandigarh

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Essential Qualification: Master’s in Science with first division and NET qualification in the field of Physics/Geophysics from a recognized University.

Desirable Qualification:

  • Knowledge of numerical modeling/simulation and coding.

Job Description:

  • Engage in research in the fields of Physics/Geophysics.
  • Conduct field data collection, including visits to snow-bound and glaciated regions of the Himalayas as required.
  • Collaborate with the research team.
  • Perform numerical modeling, simulation, and coding tasks.
  • Maintain academic excellence.

Salary/Emoluments:

  • Rs. 31,000/- per month for candidates with NET qualification
  • Rs. 25,000/- per month for candidates without NET qualification

Relaxation on qualification and age: As per Government of India Rules and Regulations.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should attend the Walk-in Interview as per the following schedule:

  • Reporting time: 08:30 AM
  • Applications accepted up to: 10:00 AM
  • Initial screening and verification of testimonials: 10:00-11:00 AM on the respective interview Date.
  • Interview of the screened/shortlisted candidates: From 11:00 AM onward.

Candidates should bring the following documents:

  • Duly filled application form with bio-data.
  • One set of self-attested copies of mark sheets/certificates (from 10th onwards).
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable).
  • Experience certificates (if any).
  • Publications (if any).
  • Original documents.
  • Recent passport-size photograph affixed on the application form.

General Conditions:

  1. Candidates may apply for only one fellowship based on their essential and desirable qualifications.
  2. The number of fellowships may vary depending on requirements.
  3. No government accommodation will be provided.
  4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview/joining.
  5. Shortlisting for interviews will consider criteria including NET/GATE scores and percentage of marks in the minimum qualifying degree.

Institute Right: The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called for an interview based on screening. Recruitment may be canceled if suitable candidates are not found.

Signing of the Agreement: Selected candidates will be required to sign an agreement at the time of joining.
